Dr. Vipul Gupta, MD

Dr. Vipul Gupta is widely regarded as one of the most experienced and reputed neurointerventionist in the country. Neurointervention (Interventional Neuroradiology) is a medical speciality in which minimally invasive diagnostic and intervention procedures for Neurovascular disorders are performed under image guidance.

  • Dr. Vipul Gupta is Director Neurointerventional Surgery (Interventional Neuroradiology) & Co-Director Comprehensive stroke care center at Paras Hospital.

  • Dr. Vipul Gupta was Director Neurointerventional Surgery (Interventional Neuroradiology) & Co-Director Comprehensive stroke care center at Artemis Hospitals.

  • Prior to joining Artemis, he was Head of Neurointervention Unit at Medanta the Medicity (Gurugram).

  • He developed the Interventional Neuroradiology unit (Endovascular Neurosurgery) at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, New Delhi.

  • He was trained in Interventional Neuroradiology in All India Institute of medical Sciences (AIIMS) where he became the faculty and was Associate Professor in dept. of Neuroradiology (AIIMS).
  • He has done short-term fellowships from Foundation Rothschild, Paris (France); Cleveland clinic (USA), and in Italy. He has been visiting Professor in UMASS general Hospital, Boston, USA

  • He has more than 24 years of experience in the field of neurointervention.

  • He is widely regarded as a pioneer in the field of aneurysm coiling, Flow Diverter Placement, AVM Embolization, Carotid Stenting and Acute Stroke intervention. Many of the newer procedures and devices were introduced by him in North India.

  • He has performed more than 5000 hundred intervention cases and is probably the most experienced doctor in this field in north India

  • He has 120 publications in national and international journals.

  • He has taken more than 200  lectures in national and international meetings

  • He is the founder of the “Society of Therapeutic Neurointervention- STNI” of India. He was previously the Secretary and is currently the Vice-President of the STNI.

  • He is the founder director of Stroke and Neurovascular Interventions Foundation which performs academic and charitable activities in the field.

  • Hindustan Times reported him as one of the top 10 young surgeons in the country.
